Exterior Painting · Add-On Service · Northwest Washington

Exterior painting from the crew that knows what's under the paint.

Paint fails here for reasons brushes can't fix — damp substrates, failed caulk, rotted trim. As an exterior contractor, we fix what's underneath first, then apply coatings detailed for wet PNW winters.

WHY AN EXTERIOR CONTRACTOR

Paint Is the Last Step, Not the First

A finish is only as good as the surface under it. Painters paint over soft trim and failed caulk because fixing them isn't their trade — it is ours. Every paint project we take starts with the same inspection we bring to a re-side, so the money goes on a wall that can actually hold it.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Painting Detailed for Wet Winters

Wash & Surface Prep

Siding washed, mildew treated at the source, and failing paint removed — the foundation every lasting finish stands on.

Caulking & Sealing

Joints, penetrations, and trim gaps sealed with quality caulk — small lines of defense that matter in sideways rain.

Repairs Before Paint

Soft trim, fascia, and siding boards repaired or replaced first, so the finish coat isn't hiding a problem.

Primers That Match the Surface

Bare wood, fiber cement, and patched areas each get the right primer — adhesion is decided here, not in the color coat.

Quality Topcoats

Premium acrylic systems chosen for flexibility and breathability through freeze-thaw cycles and months of damp.

Clean Lines & Cleanup

Careful masking, tidy edges against trim and flashing, and a site cleaned down daily until walkthrough.

Color Sampling

Body, trim, and door colors brushed out on your actual walls before anything is ordered — small samples prevent big regrets.

Stains & Clear Finishes

Penetrating stains for cedar siding and decks that weather gracefully instead of peeling, matched to the wood and its exposure.

Repaint or Re-Side? We'll Tell You Straight

If your siding is sound and the paint is simply aging, a quality repaint buys years of protection at a fraction of replacement cost — and we'll happily do it. But when paint fails every three or four years, the paint usually isn't the problem: moisture is moving through the wall, and each repaint is a bandage on a siding decision. Because we do both trades, our answer isn't biased toward the more expensive one — it's based on what the inspection finds.

That's the practical advantage of painting through an exterior contractor: if we open up a corner and find rot, the same project fixes it. No second contractor, no repainting the repair later.

Timing a Paint Job in Western Washington

Coatings need dry surfaces and adequate temperatures to cure, which gives this region a real painting season — roughly late spring through early fall, with the shoulder months workable in dry stretches. We schedule around the forecast honestly rather than pushing coats onto damp siding to hit a date.

Pairing paint with a siding or window project is often the efficient move: primed fiber cement and new trim get their finish coats while the crew and equipment are already on site. Ask about sequencing when you get your siding or window estimate.

Exterior Painting Questions, Answered Straight

With thorough prep and quality acrylic coatings, expect roughly eight to twelve years on siding and less on sun- and weather-facing trim. Cheap paint over poor prep can fail in three. The interval is mostly decided before the first finish coat goes on — which is why our scope is heavy on prep.
