Asphalt Roofing Shingles · Northwest Washington
The workhorse roof for Northwest homes — architectural shingles with algae resistance and real wind ratings, installed over the membrane and flashing details that decide how long any shingle actually lasts.
Request a free, no-obligation estimate — shingle grades and colors matched to your roof, budget, and exposure.
Thicker laminated shingles with stronger wind ratings and longer life — the default on nearly every roof we quote.
Copper-bearing granules that suppress the algae and moss our shaded, damp climate encourages.
High-wind nailing patterns to manufacturer spec, so the rating on the wrapper is the rating on your roof.
Palettes from coastal grays to deep charcoals, chosen against your siding — we'll bring boards to compare.
Ice-and-water in valleys and at eaves, synthetic underlayment across the field — the layers that stop real leaks.
Step, counter, and kickout flashing where the roof meets siding and chimneys — where shingle roofs actually fail.
Intake and exhaust corrected during the re-roof, so the deck dries and the shingles reach their rated life.
Full manufacturer warranty coverage on your new shingle roof.
Three-tab shingles are the flat, single-layer budget option — and honestly, we rarely recommend them anymore. The price gap to architectural shingles has narrowed while the performance gap hasn't: architectural (laminated) shingles are thicker, carry stronger wind ratings, hide roof-plane imperfections, and typically last a decade longer. They're the default on nearly every roof we quote.
Designer and premium lines add sculpted profiles that mimic shake or slate for homes where the roof is a major design element — worth it when it's the look you want, skippable when it isn't. Brand-wise, our GAF page covers the line we're asked about most.
More Northwest shingle roofs die of moss than of age. Moss holds moisture against the shingle, pries tabs upward as it thickens, and tears granules away when it's scraped off carelessly. The defense starts at install: algae-resistant shingles with copper-infused granules, good ventilation so the roof dries, and trimming back the overhanging branches that seed the problem.
Even the right shingle needs the system underneath — membrane in the valleys, drip edge, flashing at every wall. That's covered on our roofing replacement page, because the shingle you pick and the roof you get are two different things.
