COUNTY KNOWLEDGE

Exteriors in the County We Know Best

Whatcom County runs from saltwater to foothills, and the exterior problems change with the terrain: bay-driven rain and salt air along the Bellingham, Birch Bay, and Blaine shorelines; Fraser-outflow wind exposure across the Lynden, Everson, and Sumas farm country; heavy shade and moss pressure around Lake Whatcom's Sudden Valley and up the South Fork Valley toward Acme. One county, several different weather problems — and the install detailing changes accordingly.

Permits split two ways here: incorporated cities like Bellingham, Ferndale, and Lynden issue their own, while unincorporated communities — Birch Bay, Custer, Sudden Valley, Point Roberts, Acme — run through Whatcom County Planning & Development Services. Fairhaven, for all its own-town character, permits through the City of Bellingham, and Sudden Valley adds SVCA architectural review on top of the county process. We've worked both sides of that line for years, and Point Roberts' border logistics are part of our bid, not a surprise.

Ferndale and the county's commercial corridors also carry storefronts, offices, and multi-family buildings — we serve those too, with phased scheduling that keeps tenants in place.
