Window replacement →North Creek is named for the stream that defines it — a dozen miles of creek rising near the Everett Mall and emptying into the Sammamish River at Bothell. For most of a century the valley along it was farm country, with wetlands broad enough that a county park now preserves them off 183rd Street.
The change arrived branded as the Technology Corridor. Through the 1980s, business parks spread along I-405 and the Bothell-Everett Highway, and housing followed the jobs up the valley — '80s and '90s cul-de-sacs off 228th and the highway, then 2000s infill and townhome rows on the land between them. By 2000 the census counted 25,742 people in the North Creek CDP.
Jurisdiction never caught up in one piece. Bothell annexed Canyon Park in 1992 — doubling the city's size overnight — while a 1993 vote to incorporate North Creek as its own city failed, 1,341 to 1,927. In 2010 the census retired the North Creek CDP altogether, splitting its territory among Bothell West, Bothell East, Mill Creek East, and their neighbors. The result on the ground today: streets with Bothell addresses that are county jurisdiction, and annexed blocks a turn away that permit through Bothell's city hall. North Creek High School, opened in 2017, put the name back on the map without settling any boundaries.
For exteriors, the story is builder generations on a compressed clock: '80s–'90s engineered boards and first-generation vinyl failing in unison on the older streets, 2000s townhome rows whose shared-wall junctions got the era's least attention — and a permit question that's answered parcel by parcel, never by the mailing address.
